Juvenile Court

Shane M. Bell grew up in Paradise Valley, Nevada. His family has called Humboldt County its home for seven generations. He attended Paradise Valley Elementary School and graduated from Albert Lowry High School in 2011.

Shane attended the University of Wyoming where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture Communications in 2015. While in Laramie, he competed as a steer wrestler on the University’s Rodeo Team. Shane earned his law degree from the University of Idaho in 2018 and is licensed to practice law in both Idaho and Nevada.

After law school, Shane served as Judge Michael R. Montero’s law clerk before becoming a Deputy Prosecutor for Ada County, Idaho. While in Idaho, Shane also represented the state of Idaho in water adjudications as a Deputy Attorney General and provided legal advice to the Idaho Soil and Water Conservation Commission.

Shane moved back home to Winnemucca in 2022 and began working as a Humboldt County Deputy District Attorney. After moving home, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter and proudly serves as a volunteer for the Winnemucca Rural Fire Department. Judge Montero appointed Shane to serve as a Court Master in the Spring of 2024. As a Court Master, Shane presides over certain hearings scheduled on Judge Montero’s docket and makes findings and recommendations to Judge Montero following the hearings.
