2nd Bi-Annual “I Voted” Sticker Art Design Contest for the 2024 Election Cycle

Winnemucca, Nevada — August 10, 2023 — Friday, July 28, 2023, a selection panel of five local officials chose two winners for the 2nd Bi-Annual “I Voted” Sticker Art Design Contest for the 2024 Election Cycle. The winner in Category A (5th grade – 8th grade) is Laci Fentress, previous 7th grader and now 8th grader, at Winnemucca Junior High School, and the winner in Category B (9th grade – 12th grade) is Natalie Reves, previous 9th grader and now 10th grader from the Humboldt County School District’s Homeschool Program.

“I Voted” Sticker Art Design Contest for the 2024 Election Cycle

The Humboldt County Clerk’s Office whose official duties include facilitating elections wanted to include young people in the elections process and give the community something positive to look forward to in the often-bombastic landscape that is elections. Deputy in charge of elections, Jessica Koepke, designed this contest for future voters with the hopes of keeping democracy in the minds of the people who will one day, hopefully, cast ballots. Students were encouraged to submit their designs to excite voters and reflect the character of the American Voter. The submissions, which had to be original and hand drawn, were selected based on artistic skill and excellence, meaningful and consistent theme, and uniqueness of the design.

A selection panel consisting of Dr. Dave Jensen, Superintendent of the Humboldt County School District; Michael Montero, Sixth Judicial District Court Judge; Jessica Anderson, Humboldt County Library Director; Tom Hoss, Humboldt County Commissioner; and Ashley Maden, Winnemucca City Council Member; reviewed the fifty-six (56) designs submitted and selected the winners. Each winner will receive a $100.00 Chamber Check, one donated by the Winnemucca Chamber of Commerce and one donated by the Humboldt County Clerk’s Office, a plaque, and have their designs turned into the “I Voted” stickers for the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary, Primary Election and General Election, that will be handed out at all the in-person polling locations during Early Voting and on Election Day for each election, as well as sent out with all paper mail ballots.

The Humboldt County Clerk’s Office wants to thank all the participants for their entries and hopes to see even more submissions for the 2026 election cycle.
