100_1059

The Humboldt County Board of Commissioners oversee budgets and allocate funding for dozens of separate and distinct business functions as well as the offices other county elected officials, such as the Assessor, District Attorney, County Clerk, Treasurer, and Sheriff. As a result, the Board of County Commissioners constitutes the most influential administrative body in county government. They make laws through the adoption of ordinances, carry out those laws by directing staff and other elected officials, and evaluate laws by making quasi-judicial decisions during planning appeals and show-cause hearings (among others). These diverse responsibilities affect many very important aspects of the lives of Humboldt County’s citizens.

In accordance with NRS 244.030, commissioners serve a four-year term. To contact the County Commissioners, call 775-623-6300 or view their profiles.
